honey and butter rebranding

honey and butter rebranding

This is a rebranding of a macaron shop called Honey and Butter for a graphic design class. When rebranding, I aimed to create a fun and vibrant brand identity to properly represent the shop’s creative and fun macarons. As this is a small business with only a few number of employees, I wanted there to still be a handmade feeling to the logo. This influenced by choices with typeface and also with the logo, with everything having a more rounded, handmade feel! I also used yellow as the primary brand color as it is fun and vibrant, representing the feelings I wanted people to have when looking at any of the brand applications. Another symbol I use across the brand applications is the honey drip, representing both the honey in honey and butter but also the fun and quirky vibe the business have.

epic the musical poster

This is a fan poster done for the musical “Epic,” a loose adaptation of Homer’s “The Odyssey” for the stage. Interweaving the helmet and ship to represent the Greek soldiers and the journey that happens in the story was important to properly showcase what the musical was about. The distressed texture was to show the initial burning of Troy alongside the burned paper at the bottom of the poster.

rose tree cottage rebranding

Rose Tree Cottage is a rebranding of an afternoon tea shop, combining the rose and cottage to create a minimal and elegant logo using a single line. The rebrand centers around a very subtle, delicate, and elegant appearance, with watercolor being a recurring pattern in the imagery with typefaces chosen to represent that.

Kimono Mom editorial

Kimono Mom editorial

This is an editorial spread made for class based on the Tatler Asia article written about YouTuber Kimono Mom. To evoke the minimalist style common in modern Japan, the typefaces chosen for the body and subheaders are very light in weight, with the contrast coming from the title and subtitle. Both spreads are done using the grid system to also represent the more structured lifestyle.
